What We Provide

Choosing to leave a violent relationship is a complicated and scary decision to be faced with. We understand that survivors are faced with many barriers to leaving, including a safe space to spend the night where your abuser can’t harm you. Survivors are provided the following at our Emergency Shelter:

  • All services are completely confidential, meaning we won’t tell anyone that you are receiving services.
  • Emergency shelter is limited to those fleeing domestic violence.
  • A stocked kitchen, linens and laundry facilities are provided.
  • Toys, games and art supplies are available for children, as well as a fenced in outdoor play area.
  • Strength based case management is provided while in shelter.
  • Housing advocacy helps you take the next step to long-term freedom from violence.
  • While we try to accommodate all survivors, shelter space is limited and availability can change quickly. Please note that we cannot hold spots.
  • In the event that there are no rooms available, we will assist you in making alternative arrangements such as helping you with transportation to a safe space or referring you to a sister shelter.
  • Please note that we are not equipped to accept pets at this time.

Our Shelter is a violence-free environment, allowing survivors a safe space to heal emotionally and physically. If you are seeking emergency shelter, you may call the Help and Support Line at (906) 524-7078 and speak with an advocate about your options.
